On Friday night I ate a serving too many of low-carb chocolate so when my stomach gurgling, I didn't think whole lot of it other than the fact that I should really make sure I stick to serving sizes. By Saturday morning, I was absolutely certain it was not the chocolate that was messing with my stomach but instead a nasty virus. I stayed in bed all morning on Saturday with the exception of my way-too-frequently visits to the loo. I was scheduled to get my hair cut at 2:00 though and I was determined not to miss it. It's always a good sign when it takes you an hour to prepare to shower and then you have to lay down for another hour afterwards before you can will yourself to get dressed, right? Yes, so, this is what I did. And I did make it to get my hair cut. It was surely not my brightest idea but if I hadn't gone, I would have had to wait another 2 weeks before I would have had time to reschedule. I came home from that appointment happy I had made it but completely worn out. (But, hey, my hair looked great!)
I managed to lose the sick look (note the glasses covering my glassy, tired eyes) for just long enough to take these two pictures over the last two days of the new style and how it can be worn.

So, My hair looks awesome. I am so glad I went short again. The growing it out was, for me, totally overrated. That said, it probably wasn't my most responsible choice to go get my hair cut when I could barely shower and get dressed to drive there.... It floored me for the rest of the day on Saturday. I was on the couch or in my bed all afternoon and evening... sleeping. I actually thought I was starting to feel a little better on Sunday morning. And it was beautiful outside and by this time, all these hours on the couch were adding up and I was getting bored. So, even though I still wasn't feeling well, I was probably about 70% well at this point, I decided I was well-enough to go to the grocery store for the week. It took slightly less prep to get in to the shower than it had on Saturday but by the time I was done showering, I, again, needed to lay down. I guess that's what I get for living on ginger-ale and saltines since Saturday morning. After a bit, I made it out the door and on my way to the store. I even sang along to the radio on the way (I considered this a small victory that I felt well enough to do this). However, by the time I got there, parked, and walked into the store, I was drained. Again, why did I think this was a good idea? I only needed a few things so I got them as quick as I could and went directly home. When I got home, I put in for a substitute for my class today as I knew I wasn't making it all day in kindergarten if I couldn't even take a single trip to the grocery store for 20 minutes.
After writing my sub plans I was again beached to the couch and bed for the night. My stomach issues were starting to feel better last night but I was getting achier and my temperature started to go up. I tried to go to bed for the night around 9:40 because I was feeling so terrible and when I checked my temperature, I realized quickly why. 101.5 degrees doesn't feel very great. I took some ibuprofen and slept it off. I still have a bit of a fever this morning but it's been coming steadily down. I am hoping to be completely well by the end of the day today as this sick stuff is getting boring.
Today, my goal is to sleep a lot, write my final paper for grad school and make it through my one-hour tutoring session from 5:30-6:30. I think (hope) I can do it...
