They Got Their Girl Back — Actually, I Never Left...

If you know me at all, you probably know that I have been self-proclaimed "mmmbopin' since '97" along with favorite gentleman in Hanson. Yes, those guys. Well, today they released a single off their new album due out June 18, Anthem. The single is called "Get the Girl Back" and, as usual, it's pretty stellar. The harmonies are great, the lyrics are interestingly written and the actual music is pretty fun. There's a horn section happening behind the scenes for this song and it's got a fun dancey break.

My trio of men actually released a music video for this song as well featuring a few people you probably know. Nikki Reed from Twilight stars in the video alongside Kat Dennings from 2 Broke Girls and even Drake Bell makes a cameo at the bar during the video as well. See? I'm not the only Hanson fan, I swear! It's a fun concept and for the crazy Hanson fans like myself, I had to laugh at the guy's younger brother hamming it up during the dance break. Got to get the family involved, right?

If you can't already tell, I'm nerdy-excited about this song, this album coming in June, and the world tour they're launching to go along with it. They aren't hitting Baltimore this time around (they usually do) but they are hitting Pittsburgh and I've convinced my brother to go with me since he lives there. Hanson road trip, anyone?

The single for Get The Girl Back is available for download on websites like iTunes today and I swear to you, it's worth the $1.29. It's not the cheesy-pop you think of when you think Mmmbop (and though I see your point, I could argue that song's merit any day of the week, and honestly, let's take a listen to some of the top ten hits currently playing on the radio...). It's grown-up pop/rock with a catchy fun beat. It's still infectious and it's still loaded with grin-inducing harmony parts.
